Lime wash Boutique on Rodeo Drive, Los Angeles

This Rodeo Drive project was completed for Studio Keeta, a vintage clothing boutique designed to feel light, soft, and understated.

Our goal was to create a near-white limewash finish that would maintain subtle movement without introducing heavy contrast.

Design Approach

The design required a very light, almost white finish, while still retaining the depth that limewash provides.

Achieving this balance is not straightforward. Lighter tones can easily become flat if not applied carefully.

Application & Process

We used a sponge technique to apply the limewash, allowing us to control the movement at a finer level.

This method helped maintain subtle variation across the walls without creating visible patterns or heavy texture.

The tone was kept extremely light to support the clothing and overall retail environment.

What We’ve Seen on This Project

Lighter limewash tones are more difficult to execute than darker ones. There is less margin for error, and surface preparation becomes more visible.

Application technique plays a major role in achieving a finish that feels soft rather than flat.

Result

The space feels calm and elevated. The walls carry just enough movement to create depth, while remaining quiet enough to support the products displayed throughout the boutique.

It’s a restrained finish that works with the space rather than competing with it.
