Roman Clay Interior & Fluted Plaster Details in Studio City, Los Angeles
This Studio City project was a full gut renovation completed for a returning developer client looking to elevate the property beyond competing listings in the area.
Our scope included applying Roman Clay finishes throughout the entire home, along with custom plaster details in key focal areas.
Design Approach
The goal was to create a consistent, elevated interior that would stand out in the market while remaining within a controlled budget.
Roman Clay was selected for its ability to add depth and warmth across large surfaces without overwhelming the space.
In focal areas such as the fireplace and kitchen hood, we introduced fluted plaster to add dimension and visual interest.
Application & Process
Roman Clay was applied throughout the home using Portola Paints, covering all major living areas, bedrooms, and circulation spaces.
For the feature elements, we used Meoded Marmorino Intonaco to create fluted plaster details, adding texture and contrast while maintaining the overall material language.
What We’ve Seen on This Project
In resale-focused renovations, small material decisions can have a large impact on perceived value.
Introducing texture selectively, rather than everywhere, tends to create a more balanced and refined result.
Result
The finished home feels cohesive, warm, and intentionally detailed. The Roman Clay provides a consistent base, while the fluted plaster elements create subtle focal points.
The property sold in under a month at a record-breaking price for the area, demonstrating the impact of well-executed finishes on overall value.
